# Octeryx OS FAQ

Last updated: 2026-07-29

## What is Octeryx OS?

Octeryx OS is a modular context operating system for safe, explainable physical-world autonomy. Kasa is its primary care profile and Film is one isolated adjacent profile.

## Is Octeryx OS a robot?

No. Octeryx OS is not a robot. It is a context runtime and coordination layer intended to sit above robots, sensors, systems and human workflows.

## Is Octeryx OS a care management system?

No. Octeryx OS is not a care management clone. Care is the first reference environment because care settings expose the need for persistent identity, resident memory, policy, audit and continuity.

## What does "resident-context operating layer" mean?

In care, the resident is the durable center of context. A resident-context operating layer preserves identity, history, observations, medication exceptions, handovers, family context, device signals, permissions and evidence so future care workflows and robot actors can operate with governed continuity.

## Is Octeryx OS live in production?

No public claim is made that Octeryx OS is live in production. The current public stage is active R&D, accepted product architecture and deterministic repository proof.

## Does Octeryx OS make autonomous decisions?

No public claim is made that Octeryx OS performs unsupervised autonomous decision-making. The architecture is designed around policy, provenance, confidence, evidence and human review pathways.

## Who is Octeryx OS for?

Potential future users and partners include people receiving care, families, care providers, home and smart-environment partners, robotics and sensing partners, film-production teams, research partners and infrastructure partners. Other sectors are not active product profiles.

## How is Octeryx OS different from robot OEM software?

Robot OEM software typically controls or manages a particular robot or hardware fleet. Octeryx OS is intended to preserve context across robots, systems, sensors, people and environments, without replacing onboard robot control or hardware safety systems.

## How is Octeryx OS different from care software?

Care software usually manages care records, tasks, workflows or compliance for human teams. Octeryx OS is being designed as a context layer beneath care workflows and future autonomous actors, with emphasis on identity, provenance, policy and resident-context continuity.

## What is the relationship between Octeryx OS and Panamorphix?

Octeryx OS is part of the Panamorphix infrastructure thesis. Makemake Onboard, ECP Onboard and CongDB Onboard preserve those Panamorphix-derived concepts inside one Octeryx product. The separate Panamorphix products are not mandatory synchronous runtime dependencies.
